MEET BASADI

Marina Grobler – Project Manager
She can carry on for others with joy. She has a receptive nature and may bear burdens for others. She is pragmatic, thorough, strong-willed and practical. She is hard working, often martyr to duty. She is bold, independent, inquisitive and interested in research. She knows what she wants and why she wants it. She is a peacemaker. She understands the law of harmony and desire to balance her life with those around her. She has developed intuition, patience and the ability to nurture others

At the age of 32 I feel fortunate and blessed to be part of Basadi skills program. My dream is that Basadi should grow so that more women and families of the surrounding villages can benefit and be given a job. I have two boys, Shawn age 8 and Shane age 3. Shawn benefits from the education program of which Basadi is a part, the Lighthouse Academy Primary School. My family received a chance to better education, skills development and employment. Thank you for becoming a part of my dream through purchasing a Basadi item.

Basadi has given me hope, a reason to smile, I can escape my circumstances when I am at Basadi during the day. I am educated through Basadi and learned to sew. I have a job now. I love walking to work every day even though I stay far, I walk with a song in my heart knowing things will get better…

I am 42 years old, just call me Aggie please. I have three children, Matimu a daughter, 18 years old, a son Vutlari, 12 years old and a daughter Vutomi 9 years of age. My Brother passed away so I also have a responsibility towards his three children. I am the only breadwinner in my family. Basadi puts bread on my table. Being at Basadi takes my mind off my situation at home.

I can give my children an education through Basadi. I can help the children of my sister who has passed away and are now also in my care… Life is not easy in our village. Basadi is a beacon of hope.. It feeds my children…. With the help of a program that Basadi is part of we were provided with borehole water… Keep on supporting Basadi and help make this world a better place. We appreciate your support.

I am 39 years of age. I have two children. Since I started to work at Basadi I can sleep at night knowing I can provide for my children. I pray for a factory where we can work, where lots of ladies from the village are employed. No more tears from me and no more tears for other ladies from the village wondering how they will feed their family and what future their children will have… Basadi brings hope…

I want to give my children an education and a good future that is why I grabbed the opportunity to learn and study at Basadi with both hands. We do not only learn skills with fabric but we are also educated on life, about nutrition, about HIV/AIDS, entrepreneurship and so much more. Thank you for the support. It makes my life and the life of my family worth while.
