Tshega Christian Mission was established in 2004 with the desire to educate and empower the disadvantaged and vulnerable communities that are affected by unemployment and undesirable living circumstances.

The founder, Ellanie van Rooyen, was already teaching in a school when the doors were about to close and so she registered TCM and now serves the community of Bolebedu South in a holistic manner. Reaching the villages through education and outreaches.

The Lighthouse Academy was started in 2009 and is a fully functioning independent primary school and just one of the programs that run from the base of the organisation. Every 10th child is a sponsored child and in so we are able to reach more vulnerable children to help improve education in this country.

Other programs include the Kindergarten, Lamb’s Haven as well as Basadi, Women’s skills project that help to empower vulnerable women in the villages by giving them valuable skills, self worth and a way to provide for their families.

TCM does not stop at educating children and women but serves also the physical needs and spiritual needs of the community. We are committed to seeing transformation in the lives of every one who is involved with TCM.

MISSION STATEMENT

Tshega Christian Mission is striving to serve the community holistically using the Christian base as a hub for Tshega staff to live on and work from.  

The base will assist in evangelism, church planting, social support and training.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in ONE God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord and Savior. We believe that He died and rose again. Atoning for our sins and reconciling us back to the Father.  We believe that He will return again in power and in glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled and empowered to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, and entirely trustworthy being the complete and sufficient revelation of His will for salvation and conduct.

We believe in the example of Jesus Christ, to be His hands and feet on earth and proclaim the Good News.  Amen.
